PCE-BOAT Job Fair 5th Jan 2018

For Pass out students 2016, 2017 batch ( ITI/ Diploma/ B.E)- All branches

Board of Apprenticeship Training (WR), Mumbai in coordination with Pillai's College of Engg., Panvel is going to organize "Pool Campus", and "Workshop on National Webportal" on 05/01/2018  under the Apprentices Act.

The Pool Campus is being organized with a view to facilitate a large pool of fresher to industry/company for their engagement as apprentices and also to facilitate the candidates to select the industry/company of their choice to undergo apprenticeship training. There is no registration charges for this job fair (Free of cost).

Various core industries are expected to visit the said job fair. students from Diploma (All branches), BE(All Branches) and Pharmacy are requested to register and visit the Job fair. Jobs in this fair will be offered under Apprentice Trainee Scheme.

There is no percentage criteria applicable for this job fair, open for all percentage holders.

New Phishing gimmick : income tax error

Dear All,

One important announcement

For all of those who have Income Tax return and have received an e-mail stating that there has been an error in calculating your tax and a refund has to be issued, please ignore it.

It is circulated by hackers. Once you click on the link it will direct you to a net banking login page and once you login into it, your bank account will be hacked.

Please ignore such emails. Income tax department will send an intimation about refunds/ payable through a proper notice.

If you check the sender's address it would appear as donotreply@incometaxindiafilling.gov.in & not donotreply@incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in

Note the   e  is missing from efiling & filing is spelt as filling. Please widely circulate this message so that nobody falls pray to hackers.

New type of Cyber Crime

New type of organized cyber attack: phishing through facebook and whatsapp

Motive: to get your details, contacts, money, personal photographs

Special Targets: Girls, School and College students

Modus of operandi: hacks the vulnerable Facebook account and sends personal messages to the contacts of that account. Being a trusted friend or relative you happily respond to such messages.

Offender asks you "you will receive one text message on your mobile, please send that message to me through whatsapp".

The moment you send that text message to the offender,  he will use that OTP code to install whatsapp account on your name to his own phone. As one whatsapp account on two different devices will not work hence your whatsapp account is deactivated.

 

By using your whatsapp identity offender will access all your whatsapp groups and your friend and try to contact them with the same methodology. Generally offender asks to send the money on mobikwik, paytm,Freecharge etc. Also chats with girls in a vulgar language and asks for their photographs.

Many of my students fall prey to such gimmick.

How to deal with this: Never share any OTP to your close friend or relative without personally speaking with him/her.  Do not rely on chat or text message instead try to directly speak.

Placement for BE Extc/Electrical/Mech/Civil 2016 batch

Reliance Jio It's a JIO project of making college campuses WIFI across MUMBAI AND THANE. Reliance ResQ is handling this project for deployment and work completion. 

Work to be done includes Scope of work includes:

 Survey of college, 

preparing layout of campus and floor by floor layout with actual distances,

 recommending WIFI Access points deployment to make campus WIFI, 

wiring/cabling with Conduit pipe/Patti fitting, 

drilling skills required. 

Hands-on work to be done by each person applying for a job. 

The scope of Work includes

 1. Doing college survey - Making a layout of the campus, floorwise layout,
