Project Trainee Application Procedure

All Project Trainees may please note the following

A. Eligibility :

To apply to NIC for project work.

a. MCA students of the 5/6th semester
b. MCS students of 4th semester
c. M.Sc.(Computer Science)students of 4th semester
d. B.Tech, M.Tech , ME, M.C.M students for the final semester
e. B.E.(Computer Science) students for final semester

B. Instructions:

1. The course/degree under which the project is to be done should be of formal stream (full-time course) and recognized by Government of India (i.e. MoHRD/ UGC/ AICTE etc.).

2. Project Training should be a part of the regular curriculum of the course/degree and should be full time of one semester duration.

3. Project duration must be minimum of 4 months and maximum of 6 months.

4. The project start date should be (1st Jan-10th Jan) for Jan Semester or (1st Jul-10th Jul) for July semester every year

5. B.Tech/B.E. in (CS)/(IT)/(E&C) are eligible only if the project training is full time of one semester (minimum 4 months and maximum 6 months) duration and is a part of the regular curriculum of the B.Tech./B.E. degree course. They should produce Brochure of their institute, containing the information about the degree and its curriculum clearly stating that 'Full Time one semester project training is a part of the degree' along with the application form.

6. The MCA, MCS, M.Sc, B.Tech, M.Tech, ME students who are able to work full time for a period of 6 months are eligible to receive a stipend. Each semester Jan-June and July-December the project student committee of NIC Software Development Unit, Pune identifies the students who are eligible to be paid a stipend. About 10 students can be paid a stipend each semester.

7. The stipend amount is Rs.1500/-(if applicable) payable for a maximum of 6 months.

C. How to apply :

1. Registration at our website www.mah.nic.in will be considered as application.

2. The web registration should be made at least two months in advance (before 1st Nov for January semester and 1st May for July semester), from the date of the start of the project work.

3. You will be contacted by the NIC officers through mail on selection.


D. Acceptance:

1. On selection, the Head,Training Division, NIC Pune will inform the sponsoring college.

2. The list of selected students will be displayed in the Training Division in May and December.

3. The selected students will be required to produce their original certificates along with a set of attested copies, at the time of joining, to verify the correctness of the information given in his/her application failing which his/her selection will be cancelled.

4. A forwarding letter from the HOD of the college/Institution also needs to be brought at the time of interview.(Please note that Xerox copies of the HOD's letter will not be accepted).

5. On accepting NIC’s offer, the students must submit Form ST-1 if they wish to get a stipend.

6. On reporting to NIC for Project Work, the students must submit Form ST-2 with 2 photographs.

7. The student after joining will have to undertake and complete the assigned project within the stipulated period. They will not be allowed to attend examination/viva etc. without written permission from NIC on request from the Institute Head, during the project period.

8. On completion of the project, Form ST-4 and ST-5 need to be submitted to the Training Division.
